Another Better Way To Get News From Another User Submitted News Site!

From Techcrunch: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/03/25/mixx-to-add-breaking-news-feature/

Awesome! Another Digg clone adds another way for uber nerds to announce their own destined-to-fail startups on the Mixx homepage!

The whole point of voting stories up/down on digg-like sites, is for the most important/relevant/interesting stories to bubble to the top. If you enable the super-diggers, super-mixxers or super-nolifehavvers to use a shortcut to the home page, they will exploit it for their own benefit.

Yeah yeah, I realize this is an attempt to get “Breaking News” out to the public. Speaking of…BREAKING NEWS: I DON’T CARE! Give it a week, and see what news stories uber-mixxers deem “breaking news”. I predict the only breaking that will happen is the breaking of the logic to determine who can submit breaking news.

Case in point:

Right now, there are SIX news stories announcing this new Mixx feature, on the MIxx homepage. TWO of which are “breaking news”…
