ReVou Is The Poor Man’s Twitter

From TechCrunch: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/03/24/revou-lets-you-host-your-own-twitter/

This just in…for $399 you can host your own Twitter.  Let’s see, why would I want to do that?

  1. To prove over and over again that Ruby on Rails doesn’t scale
  2. To cause some sort of temporal rift whereby a site is always falling over
  3. Imagine, Scoble everywhere!
  4. So Jason Calacanis can have even more sites to pursue his dream of world friend domination
  5. So that everyone can read about the sandwich I just ate
  6. So that I can twitter that I have my own twitter…and do it recursively!
  7. So that I can own the “TechCrunch40” user name and not have it revoked by the powers that be

Really, the only reason you would shell out $399 for Revou’s script… is if you wanted to experience the whole ambiance of flushing money down the toilet. Revou is actually an offshoot of Alstrasoft. Do some searches on Alstrasoft to see why they are the equivelant of a toilet.
