everyone i know who has tried the site during alpha got hooked, it’s actually pretty addictive once you get into it. people post custom content to places like youtube in hopes that others will watch and rank, this makes it a bit more interesting by throwing in a competitive angle where your entries compete with others and users vote. not for everyone, then again neither is youtube or reality tv. Not rocket science despite your “I BeatMyHeadAgainstAWallTryingToUnderstand You”. Imagine this, you want to be on american idol but didn’t make the cut, though think you should…then post your video to ibeatyou, invite others to compete and the winner gets bragging rights. if the audience gets big enough, how is it different from reality tv other than being online? another way to think about it is a web 2.0 ‘hot or not’ though instead of just looks, competitions can be for thousands and thousands of different things….
